Miles Porcaro, the son of the late famed drummer; Jeff Porcaro of the band Toto, has passed away at the age of 31. Sharing these photos, Miles' mother, Susan Porcaro Goings took to Facebook this evening to post a beautiful public tribute to her son saying, "My heart is broken. I am devastated. My Miles is gone. He's now in heaven with his Daddy." No explanation was posted as to the cause of his death. Soon after the post, family and friends began to pour in, sharing their grief and condolences to Susan and her family. Unfortunately, the Porcaro family has had their share of grief with the loss of Miles' father, Jeff Porcaro, who passed away at the age of 38 from a heart attack in 1992. Jeff was not only a respected studio musician within the recording industry, but was a founding member of the 1980's rock band Toto, which continues to write, record and tour. Another sad loss within the Porcaro family was Jeff's younger brother and Mile
Sara Niemietz is no newcomer to show business. At 18, she is a seasoned actress who has done Broadway, been in films and is currently on television as the on-screen guitarist for GLEE. And if you've seen any of her videos on YouTube, you've probably noticed that she is quite the singer and musician. Someone else noticed!!!! Ellen DeGeneres!!!!! Do I sound a bit excited??? Imagine how excited Sara was to find out that Ellen had ALSO been watching her on YouTube!!! Ellen was so overwhelmed by Sara, she wanted to meet her "immediately" and invited her to the show, which aired today, May 4, 2011! How cool is THAT, people???? Watching Sara talking with Ellen, you can see she has such a sweet presence about her! But that sweetness was instantly replaced once she got that mic in her hand and started releasing the SOUL within her. THE GIRL CAN SANG!!!! AND WHAT A BAND !! Backing her are some of music's FINEST!
Rene & Rene or aka René Y René are a band from South Texas but growing up with their music I had thought they were an East L.A. band. With their soft ranchera sound, their songs were a staple with los pachucos with their rucas in one arm and the other hanging, stationary to their side, swaying to songs such as "Lo Mucho que Te Quiero (The More I Love You)," and "Mienteme." I have memories of my mom singing Mienteme with that look in her eyes thinking about the love of her life. It brings chills just thinking about it now. To me, I find it sad that René Y René are listed as a "One Hit Wonder" because they definitely were not a one hit wonder. With their flexibility in playing any style, they proved they could not only write beautiful love songs, but songs to dance to like "Angelito" where a soft "cha cha cha" would be inorder. Can you say "la fiesta con la familia y amigos todos!!?" Although René Ornelas y René Herrera wer
